A través del proyecto de Vinculación con la Sociedad, en colaboración con la Secretaría de Educación, Recreación y Deportes (SERD) y la Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos OEI-Ecuador , el proyecto STEM-Ecuador, impulsado por el Departamento de Ciencias de la Energía y Mecánica, ha promovido la innovación y el aprendizaje práctico en miles de estudiantes y docentes.

Makerspace CONCEPTS is a teaching model based in creativity, technology and solving problems in real contexts. With support of SERD and OIS, this space will continue enhancing practice learning and vocational guidance in STEM areas.
Linking with society project STEM-ECUADOR, DCEM together with Health Sciences Department received 96 students from five municipal educational units

During the visit, students explored specialized laboratories of Mechanics, Medicine and the outstanding MakerSpace installed in the Reverse Engineering and Prototyping Laboratory "CONCEPTS", interacting with advanced technology and innovative projects. This initiative seeks to inspire and strengthen interest in science and technology in new generations, promoting their development as future professionals able to transform the country.
